Use this tool to encrypt your article file before uploading it to IPFS only if your intention is for Rosebud to re-add to IPFS as a new file with no link back to you as the original IPFS uploader.
Your file will be encrypted in your browser using AES‑GCM, and the AES key will be RSA‑encrypted using our public key.
The resulting JSON file (with extension .pgp
) contains all the encryption data needed.
- Select the file you wish to encrypt (plain text, HTML, Markdown, PDF, etc.).
- Click the "Encrypt and Download" button.
- The encrypted file will be downloaded with the
.pgp
extension. You can then upload this file to IPFS.

Once your file is uploaded to IPFS and you have its CID, use the form below to submit your article record via our Matrix channel from where it will be retrieved, reviewed and indexed
Note that if file on IPFS is not encrypted then it will be pinned rather than uploaded as a new file.
